I would say he burst a blood vessel after his performance in the Dail earlier. He got mercilessly abused by Government TD's after having a go at Joan Burton, you, you know, fired him from his nice job his Daddy got him.

Are they going to remove the cap and gombeen from him, that may require major surgery.

I actually like the guy--very articulate in his lovely Kerry accent, one of the few to hold his own under an unmerciful barracking from Vinnie.....

Politics, like a lot of jobs, piles on the stress.

Politicians need to make time for exercise---a swim or the gym---but that is not always easy.

But it might be just a virus or winter flu--a bad dose of which is going round at the moment

Hope the poor fella is ok. Having Reilly sitting near you might give you a feeling of confidence--but then again, perhaps not...

More dangerous fools were elected in Dublin - in Ireland there is no urban/rural divide with regard to the electoral idiocy.

More seriously I wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he kept his health insurance up.

The Dail Dynasty thing is much more of a rural phenomenon. I live on the DL-Dublin South border, and of the 9 TD's in the two constituencies, I don't think any are the children of previous TD's.
Now that my ladder's gone. I must lie down where all the ladders start. In the foul rag and bone shop of the heart.

Ah, but that's only because the likes of Andrews, Hanafin and Lenihan didn't get re-elected - this time around!

I know its not a nice thing to say but imagine if he died.. JHR would probably stand in the by election and be back in the Dail again...
