O'Snodaigh labels Burton "ignorant"

Sinn Fein's Aengus O'Sondiagh attacked Joan Burton during an earlier Dail exchange. He repeatedly told her to, "sit down", telling her she had, "lost the run of herself". He also accused her of being, "ignorant" and, "unpolite" (impolite?).

Pat Kenny (pictured left ) and his Friday Panel have briefly discussed the poor quality of debate in our lower house.
One commentator remarked, "thank God the Children are in school and don't have to listen to this".

It sounded like a pub row. Not very edifying:

Of course I know her name, but it's just so easy to get the FG Bruton and the Labour Burton mixed up - they're so similar you see.

I always have to double-check her name in my head and I do it by reminding myself that Joan is the Liz Taylor of Irish politics and married Richard Burton.

i was in public gallery at the time, joan burton did interupt him asking him to withdraw a comment, anghus got mighty annoyed and told her to 'shut up' called her 'ignorant' but it wasn't just what he said that annoyed me, it was his body language - i thought he was going to spontaneously combust.

he will be embarrassed this morning when he looks back on it
