O'Snodaigh labels Burton "ignorant"

Despite the ludicrous "shrek" posts, the fact remains that Burton is excessively rude. Passing childish comments on the messenger does not alter this fact!

The Shrek comments are a bit of sport.

Though Burton is an accomplished spoofer. She gets supportive treatment from Pravda. But her performance on the VB show is far more indicative of her character. She is too used to getting her way on the media, from Pravda. When made look like a fool she can go into a tantrum.

Sinn Fein's Aengus O'Sondiagh attacked Joan Burton during an earlier Dail exchange. He repeatedly told her to, "sit down", telling her she had, "lost the run of herself". He also accused her of being, "ignorant" and, "unpolite" (impolite?).

Pat Kenny (pictured left ) and his Friday Panel have briefly discussed the poor quality of debate in our lower house.
One commentator remarked, "thank God the Children are in school and don't have to listen to this".

Don't be so critical of SF. In fairness they are not that long in the democracy game, it is not that long ago since they had a different way of expressing disagreement. I feel they are heading in the right direction, but it is very hard to judge their motivations at times.

Not that long in the Democracy game? Are you saying that because you don't actually know when they were formed or because you agree with me in acknowledging that there was very little democracy for Irish Republicans in the occupied six and the enemies of democracy used section 32 of the broadcasting act to ensure there was little of it in the 26??

I don't like all this demonizing and ridiculing of Joan Burton. She was treated badly by her party leader when the cabinet was formed, and she's been treated badly by her cabinet colleagues ever since. Frances Fitzgerald doesn't get picked on because she never says anything. The treatment of Joan shows how misogyny is still rife in Irish politics.

Her massive wages and very comfortable lifestyle will help her through these hard times. Maybe we should do a collection to ease her pain and pay her Household charge so that her colleagues in Fine Gaol don't lock her up.
