Senate expenses, Ivor Callely in news again

What are we to make of Ivor Callely claiming for travelling up from West Cork to Dublin. He has a second home there, and claimed it was now his principal residence (for claim purposes) Amazing how those FFers love homes and Yachts in Cork/Kerry etc. CJH also had a yacht and an island, and some lifeboat had to come and rescue him when he steered on to the rocks, like the country finds itself. And FF portray themselves as the party of the small man. That with a fondness for horses and big houses make them the continuation of the landed gentry. Amazing the Sindo ran this story today, even the rats desert the sinking ship of fools
You'd think Kenny committed Treason and brought in IMF. Cowen had all in stitches in Galway at 3.30a.m.but he was "not impaired" -DD Power. FF=Publican páirtí an IMF.

Sen. Ivor Callely claims to live in Cork

Callely got €80,000 mileage from Cork - National News, Frontpage - Independent.ie

    €80,000 in mileage!

CONTROVERSIAL Fianna Fail Senator Ivor Callely has been claiming overnight and travel expenses from a property owned by him in west Cork since he was appointed to the Seanad in 2007.

In the aftermath of his nomination to the Seanad, Senator Callely told the Oireachtas in December 2007 that his "current principal residence" was Kilcrohane, Bantry, Co Cork, which is 370km from Leinster House.

This will come as a surprise to his political rivals in Dublin north central, where sources told the Sunday Independent that Mr Callely "continues to engage in political activities".
Isn't it a great little country all the same.

Looks like Ivor forgot to tell his own website that he had moved his residence to West Cork - or else he's simply a bare-faced liar and con man and thus unfit for Public Office.

That is just unbelievable. You'd have to have a neck like a jockey's b******ks to pull a stunt like that.

It just can't be legitimate, unless of course he can show that the holiday home really was his PPR. It's not enough to just own a house and "say" that's your PPR.

he should be investigated for fraud if that's the case, and it isn't his primary residence

There is no doubt about his neck. The question is will his parliamentary colleagues see anything wrong with it and do anything about it.
