So he implies that she's stupid and she automatically assumes it was said because she's a woman, thats sexist on her part.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you
down to their level and then beat you with experience.

+1 Took the words right out of my mouth. Mary is running scared. She knows her head is on the block.

Ah now, she's not got much going for her but that's a fine set of pins she had all the same.

Female politicians in Ireland seem to have a terrible time at the the hands of the Irish media. This is true regardless of party. A number of FG and Labour politicians have rallied to Mary Coughlan's defence today and said that the media attacks on her were unfair and mainly because she's a woman. Lucinda Creighton will probably get the same treatment in the next Government. Could it be that the explanation has nothing whatever to do with the competence of female politicians but is more because: (a) male journalists will constantly make virulent attacks on female politicians who won't go to bed with them (b) female journalists will constantly make virulent attacks on female politicians who are better looking than them?

Lucinda is safe. She hasn't a hope of being in the next government.

No - we already know the reason - no need at all for this version

Coughlan's sex has nothing to do with it. She's attacked because she's incompetent.

Are you aware of Coughlan or Creighton being sexually harassed by a male journalist?

Both Coughlan and Creighton could rightly say that their looks are not the key to whatever success they enjoy.
