    Absolute bunkum !!!

George sat in his room like the oracle at delphi waiting for the lessor mortals to come to him so he could bestow his great wisdom upon them. He sulked whilst the rest of Fine Gael ignored him and got on with their own jobs. When he was finally fed up - he balanced his life as a politician with the 6 figure salary and cushy number that he had waiting for him in RTE and decided that the easy life was more important than fighting the good fight.

He didn't even have the balls to be honest and just say that he had underestimated the difficulty of the political life - oh no - none of that for George - it was all the other guys fault !! Why didn't they come and ask for his knowledge? Why didn't they fawn at his feet? How dare they continue without his completely invaluable and infallible insight. It wasn't up to him to go to them !! Surely they understood - they must come to him and ask him for enlightenment !

Georgie then picked up his ball and his rattle and his soother and his blankie and went back over the his pals in RTE for a group hug. There there Georgie, there there

    Do they really ?

    I often wonder.

Millions of voters have been shafted by FF & are looking for someone reasonable to vote for (i.e not the greens, shinners, labour or lunatic fringe). FG seem unwilling to give them a choice.

My Advice - dump kenny by the side of the road somewhere & bring back Dukes.

Apart from dissenting with his party about how they were treating him how exactly did he show dissent? Did he speak out against policies that FG had and that he disagreed with? Where exactly did he show courage?
If he had said something to the effect that he had made a mistake, that politics was not for him, and that he ws going back to hsl old job that would have been courageous.

Being elected to the Dail is a huge honour, and jacking it in after 19 weeks is an affront to the people Lee promised he would represent. How is telling the people who elected you that you can't be bothered representing them anymore (particularly when you have your eye on a plum job in RTE) in any way honourable?
A demagogue is someone who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.

Everyone should have known that and what is more, when the 12 months were up he could have applied for a second 12 months, He deserves all our thanks for showing the Dail as a club of wasters putting on a show to fool the electorate, Everyone of them only interested is minding their seats until they can hand it over to a member of the family in the next generation, It is sickening to see Fine Gael knifeing him now after their lack lustre performance for the last 12 months with the country on its knees,

Balderdash. Fine Gael prevented him from fighting the good fight - he had a right to respond to their political stonewalling, and he did. I hope Lee chooses to re-enter the ring either as a chief economic news correspondent or as a candidate in the next GE.

Sheesh, you guys should work on some new material,
embellishing Varadkar's hackneyed quips makes you look like a bunch of parroting stooges.

Yep, Fine Gael have shown themselves to be as cynical a party of careerist opportunists (Kenny, Creighton et al.) as Fianna Fail or the Greens.

    Actions speak louder than words.
His act of dissent with the status quo shows courage.

No. I was referring to Fine Gael jumping on George's coat-tails only to shaft him when they got a sniff of power.
