I heard Leo Varadkar stole George's blankey, and wouldn't give it back. Thats the root of the problem.

Is George Lee a suicidal 14 year old, or an economist and a legislator?

If he had concerns, he should have brought them to Kenny, and had it out.

I believe thats what normal people do.

Kenny can't spend his time looking for clear signs of dissatisfaction in his 50 TD's and 15 Senators.
    This isn't secondary school.

Not a very credible person IMO, but a very selfish one, when you consider the numbers of the electorate who voted for him.

So you think he should live a lie and tell them all he was doing for them in the Dail,

    Courageous dissenter me arse!

Lee was a eunuch in a harem. He saw it being done every night, he talked about it every night but when he got a chance he wasn't able to do it himself.

He did live a lie. Did he tell the electorate in the run up to the bye election that he had only taken a leave of absence for 12 months and if it didn't go his way, he would jack it in and return to RTE?

Now there's a word you don't encounter very often in Irish politics: "honourable". In fact honour is such a scarce characteristic in Irish politics (you could count on one hand the number of similar cases).

Take a good look at what is left in Irish Politics. Loook at what type of person rises to the top.

Cowan, Coughlan, O'Dea, Lenihan, Harney, Dempsey etc. Not an ounce of honour amongst them. All institutionalised 100%. Lifers on the gravy train.

Yeh but that's also true on the flip-side with Kenny, Bruton, Creighton et al. They're all cronies or cronies-in-waiting.

The people gave him a landslide because they believed he could make a difference to the dire state of our economy - but the power-hungry sycophants in Fine Gael were having none of it, they hoodwinked George and shanghaied the people of Dublin South in a selfish quest for political supremacy.

You're probably right that Lee could have and should have made his dissatisfaction clearer, and set out in writing to Kenny how he expected different treatment. Instead, he seems to have bottled things up and stewed on it.

That said, it has been fairly clear for a long time that Lee was dissatisfied. It shows poor judgment on the part of the FG leadership that this state of affairs was not addressed and allowed to develop as it did.

Fine Gael want to lead the country, which is a fairly complicated and demanding task. It's reasonable that people look at this latest c0ck-up and ask whether FG are up to it.
