Crisis? What crisis. Biffo takes another month off!

Dáil to get extra week off despite jobs crisis | Irish Examiner

So Mr Indecision can now go back into deep hiding, away from any questioning of his bland incompetence. His odd media appearance will be to answer pre agreed questions with compliant journos. And for this the clown gets paid more than most G20 leaders.

Why does Ireland need any more jobs?. There are not enough people to fill the jobs from the last referendum.

Government chief whip Pat Carey denied the extended break would impact on Dáil business and its ability to debate urgent issues like unemployment.

He said when the diary for the current Dáil year had been drawn up, it was envisaged parliament would not sit for the two weeks surrounding the Lisbon Treaty referendum.

In fact, only one week was lost to the referendum, meaning the Dáil year is not being shortened, despite the extended Christmas break.

"We will still be sitting 35 weeks... this... year, which is longer than most Dáil years," Mr Carey said
Don't you realise they are working more now? Notice he said weeks & not days. 3 day week doesn't add to many regular weeks.

Cowen has to go to Copenhagen - what odds he uses government jet?

He deserves it for hoodwinking the public throughout 2009.

If he had only seen the downturn in summer 2008 we would be out of this depression by now.

He has advisors, well paid advisors, that have absolutely no idea how the real world work. Career civil servants more than likely. These should be sent on training courses during this period.

We need this man on a threadmill from December 26, 2009 getting himself fit for the national strikes & actions that no doubt will hit us in 2010. You wont see the Union leaders taking 4 weeks off

Maybe this extra week will save money.

Does anyone know if they can claim the €55 daily turning up money for Dublin Tds /travel money for country TDs when Dail not sitting/

Or can they claim they turned up to work in their office preparing speaches for when the Dail is sitting?
