When will this self-pitying MOPEry ever end? Is there a more whinging political movement on earth than so called Irish 'republicans'?

You and what army? oh yeh the one that murders women and children in the name of republican socialism, (did u care to ask if thats whats 'the people' want or are you just gonna assume you know best?) I too used to be hypnotised by the empty rhetoric that is modern republicanism. Thank god i grew up and got an education.Originally Posted by quote=\"Mairtin Og Meehan
The past is the past, you don't hear America complaining about how mean the British were, they faught for independence, like us, and built a strong state so that noone could ever subver their interests again, like us. It's people like you who try to subvert all that we've achieved in the name of some pipe dream that is 'republican ideals'. And by the way the reason they still hold the north is because a majority up there want them to. Not because of some imperial agenda, do u know how much money it costs their exchequer every year (im gonna assume with some degree of certainty that you don't).
So whilst you foolhardy impressionables go get drunk on the inebriate of republican romanticism, it's us rational individual who get left to clean up the mess. I HATE SINN FEIN WITH A PASSION. I HATE REPUBLICAN RHETORIC WITH A PASSION. AND I HATE FASCIST MORONS WHO THINK THEY CAN ASCRIBE WHAT KIND OF STATE THE REST OF US SHOULD LIVE IN, SOCIALIST UTOPIAN OR OTHERWISE. jimbob86, it's okay to hate but it will cloud U R judgement and leave U feeling isolated in the long term![]()
Regards, the actual question of this thread.
Yeah, I feel strongly that the British Monarchy or Government should accept and say sorry for her crimes in Ireland.
If there is 2 B real peace then we need to hear it, loud and clear - especially before Mrs. Windsor is invited for a 'State Visit'.

I nominate the so-called Ulster 'Loyalists' for the answer to this question.Originally Posted by Inishowen

No, on second thoughts if they told us the truth - there would be an almighty Revolution!

I would be appropriate for Great Brtain to apologise for serious neglect in Ireland. I am particularly thinking of the Famine. Of course, the Roman Catholic Church should also apologise for their failure to act.Originally Posted by Mairtin Og Meehan
In return, Ireland should thank Great Britain for the infrastructure built prior to independence. For example, how many railway lines have been built after independence?
Of course, the greatest gift was the English language. If it wasn't for educating the native Irish to speak English, we would be a poor and irrelevant island sitting in the Atlantic.
May I be the first to say:
Thank you Britain.
