I like 'The Men Behind The Wire', since in addition to protesting the illegality of internment, it also was responsible for the founding of the Andersonstown News group.
Generally, though, all rebel/loyal songs are utter crap, listened to only by bigots of one hue or another, to confirm their own prejudices.

Aren't the 'fighting men of crossmaglen' a band?

I think I have a CD of theirs I got in jonesborough, it has a great version of Something Inside so Strong..

I wouldn't be a big fan of 'barstool provo' music, but I admit I do have one or two songs in my iTunes, A Nation once again, Men behind the wire etc.

Every song sounds better in certain venues with certain singers.

The best version of Song for Marcella is this one: (IMNSHO)

This should be fun - demonstrate for me how my belief that most people listen to bigoted songs in order to confirm their own prejudices is in itself bigotry.

How many Irish Rebel songs that you've listened to are bigoted?

I haven't been keeping a running tally, but I'd say all the ones that espouse murder weren't particularly tolerant.
