BBC NEWS | UK | Northern Ireland | Inquiry into police 'mob escort'
A complaint of alleged police failure of duty during an incident in Larne last month is being investigated by the Police Ombudsman's Office.
A savage attack on a man at a bonfire in the town earlier in July is being linked to the loyalist protest.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the attack in the Cairngorm Drive area on 10 July.
The group of men are believed to be members of the South East Antrim UDA and UVF.

So there you have it, the PSNI escorted terrorists to a mans house who they previously attacked after a sectarian bonfire.
Now the innocent family have a death threat and the PSNI arrested no-one.
A senior Policeman from Scotland Yard was on Radio Ulster speaking of how he is totally shocked that a UK 'Police' force could behave like this.
I'd say there arnt many places in this world where highly dangerous terrorist mobs get a police escort.
I wonder what the PSNI have to say for themselves, last time they egged on their UDA buddies a man died, 2 women were beaten (one pregnant) and another man is very lucky to be alive after what the mob done to him.

Let me try and get my head around this persons mentality..
Police come to a families door with a terrorist mob, the people naturally come to the door to say whats going on and lapsedmethodist thinks the people in the house are trying to 'point score'?
Thats the problem here, the people being verbally attacked and intimidated by terrorists - must have been trying to imtimidate the huge mob outside by coming to the door.
Lucky the police protected the drug dealer filthy biggoted murderers from a family asking 'whats going on here?'.
How dare they eh?

Looked at BBC, seems obvious that police were there to prevent mob getting at family, police must have been confident that there would be no trouble given the number of protesters and the few police escorting them.
Larne gets very bad press and seems to be full of extreme Loyalists, is that a fair reflection of the town?
Yes thats it, the police were preventing a mob from getting at this family, by bringing them to the family and issuing a death threat.
How nice of them.
Thank god the Police allowed people to threaten and shout sectarian abuse at innocent people.
BTW the BBC is biast, it calls this parade a protest when it has been legally defined as a parade that was illegal.
Do you think the UDA should be escorted to peoples homes or prevented?
If you beep your car horn after 10 at night you get a £30 pound fine, but march a crowd of bigots round a housing estate after midnight to shout abuse and its perfectly ok.

I dont know enough about this situation but i doubt if the police were supporting the protest. I have no doubt that had they not been there it could have been a lot worse for the people in the house. I have a lot of friends in Rasharkin that have been forced out of their houses over the last few years for having the cheek not to be nationalists. No doubt they wish the police would have been there to stop breaking windows and damaging cars. Mighten it be the case that sf/sdlp has watered down the police to the stage where they havent the numbers to sort these things out.
So you want to apply collective blaming to these people?
Apparently you know someone who had something bad happen to them, so you think its fair enough that the PSNI march terrorists to peoples doors and fail to arrest any of them for mass harassment, intimidation, anti-social behaviour and engaging in an illegla parade?
Your logic should be applied everywhere then.
The IRA should be allowed to be marched to peoples front doors to intimidate them.
The PSNI should lead them to their front door and stand there while the IRA hurls sectarian abuse at them.
Maybe your front door would suffice?
Afterall your logic states that any random person should be abused because someone on 'the other side ' somewhere else had something simililar happen to them.
Would you be ok with that?
A huge load of thugs surrounding your house after midnight, shouting abuse with the PSNI allowing them?
Would you consider that ok?

Please state their names and the addresses at which they were living in Rasharkin. If you do not provide that information, I will assume that you manufactured the alleged incident(s).
