I don't actually know anyone from a unionist background who says they don't live in Ireland. Even Ian Paisley had this to say on his visit to Farmleigh house in Dublin almost 3 years ago: “I am proud to be an Ulsterman, but I am also proud of my Irish roots… although I would put the Ulsterman before the Irishman in my Constitution.”

We now have a winner for the dumbest post in the history of politics.ie.

It is a classic mixture of cliché, simplistic analysis, pointlessness and irrelevance.

What century do you live in? The seventeenth?
"Irish citizens . . . on ratification of the Treaty could be forced to become Euro soldiers." Sinn Féin claim on Maastricht in 'Democracy or Dependency' p.6. in 1992.

That's it sorted so. And there was me thinking that there were religious, social, cultural, historical, geographical, and political elements to the conflict.

Thanks for clearing it up for me.

    No, we don't.
Ireland is not a British Isle.
The correct term is Ireland and Britain (or Britain and Ireland).

I was referring to geographical terminology - which was what got Peter started !

+1. The fact that the entire piece is one long sentence only adds to the comedy value. They should have had a Father Ted character that spoke like that.....
