Fell of the sofa there, doubled up laughing. Moving on three years from the start of this thread, I would have said 3ys ago, and still today, that the upper Ormeau Road would be the best short-term place to live in Belfast.
Two great bars, loads of shops and restraunts, good park and within walking distance to the city centre(15mins). Belfast was described in the "Times" 2 years ago, as being in the top 10 safest citys in the UK and Ireland.
Plenty of cheap accomadation in the village area, now that they have racist"ly put all the poles out, but dont think a southern accent would fare any better.
I wonder sometimes in Belfast how southeners get on, and feel the next morning, after a night out on belfast. I mean I wonder are they weary off the possiblity that their accent in some way may target them. Do they get any negative remarks comments? Much in the same way that coloured (dont know if thats the politically correct term?) people feel, with regards the colour of their skin. I Taxi in the city, and have done so for 12 years. I have travelled a good bit, and have 4 young kids, and must say that im happiest here!!!!!!!!!!!
But hey! Each to their own?

It's all good.. The women up there can smell fresh meat at a thousand yards and are all top of the range stunners, take it easy or they will wear you out. Pace yourself.

Maybe the people back then can hear us. Shall we tell them or let it be a surprise ?
Don't be silly, they had a different language back then, something involving pictures and symbols IIRC.
