Its a pity you can't post full articals on forums, I mean in general.

A lot of people are so eager to blurt out an opinion that they don't even read the full artical in the link.

The SDLP don't exist on the ground in many areas of the North.

As a recently leaked internal paper revealed, they have only 28 members in the whole West Belfast constituency & only 150 members in Armagh.

The fact that they have had to hire a private company to erect posters and distribute election literature over the last number of years shows their failure to attract ordinary workers on the ground.

Even in the South Belfast constituency (Alastair McDonnell) the last election was the scene of major infighting between two rival camps within the party.

They are pretty rudderless under the Durkan/McDonnell leadership.

This is something that bothers me a bit.

SF get a lot of outside funding and exposure as a result of the 'war', not to mention the murals and other propaganda plastered all over the walls.

Nobody knows much about SDLP, yet they know that SF stands for an all-Ireland and for most, thats good enough.

I wonder how many people in the north who voted for SF actually read thier manifesto, or even knows what a political manifesto is.

    SDLP, who?

I'm not being simplistic or condescending here, not everyone who votes is into politics like you all are, the vast majority in the north just vote on 'instinct' not information.

If i didn't have a computer, i would hardly even know who SDLP are or what they stand for, besides the odd TV interview.
The town gets saturated with SF posters and flyers.

I'm not bashing SF, i just think the SDLP really need to pull thier finger out of thier arse, get on the ball in getting thier message out there if they want to gain more votes, instead of whinging about SF.
