Without knowing what type of dog this was it's difficult to determine wheter or not the police's actions were justifiable.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

If the dog attacks a child and then an adult, what do you expect? That they feed it doggie biscuits? Of course it was going to be shot. If they hadn't shot it then it would have been destroyed anyway a couple of hours later.

Sadly enough (and speaking from personal experience) .... Lil un's friend was attacked by Alsatian some months back and they had to get 19 stiches in the ear area I think ... parents did have 2 alsatians and the one who did the deed was put down ... but the other fupper is still there at the homestead chained up

This country (sorry it's a NI Thread i know - but extend it to 32 Counties)

This Island stinks with dog laws .... to state they're lax and non enforced would be an understatement
