McGuinness on Dissidents: "IMPOSTERS, CRIMINALS, DEALERS"

..McGuinness has renewed his attack on dissident republican groups..
He said: "I have found republicans to be very resolute in their determination not to allow these unrepresentative people to hijack the honourable ideals and legacy of republicanism. For republicans, armed struggle was always only defendable in the absence of any alternative response to oppression and state violence. The reality is that we now have a peaceful way of delivering change. Those who advocate a return to conflict, to overturn the power sharing and all-Ireland institutions of the Good Friday Agreement are not just wrong, they are anti-democratic, they are impostors. Their activities are not just self-serving but are, on many occasions, a flag of convenience for criminality and drug dealing."

The Deputy First Minister's remarks come ahead of a public meeting in the city on Thursday [7th May] at which he will be the main speaker.

"We have also withstood not only character assassination from our political opponents but actual and very determined physical assassination campaigns by sections of the British Security agencies and their acolytes in the unionist murder gangs. Therefore, these people will not bully us or deflect us from the job at hand which is to vigorously pursue our republican objectives of Irish self-determination, reunification and sovereignty for the people of Ireland."

Mr McGuinness added that the majority of questions at recent public meetings held by Sinn Féin have focused on economic issues rather than the activities of dissident republicans.

McGuinness is just getting tedious and embarrassing at this stage. He should get some back room job in SF, something that doesn't involve talking in public and being well away from the limelight.

the very same British security agencies Minister Gypo Nolan assassinates republicans characters as traitors , criminals , drug dealers , imposters etc for refusing to be informers for ? Or even members of ?

Minister Nolan has officially lost the plot . The sooner hes given a knighthood and permitted to quietly retire to somerset or the lake district the better for all of us.

What they did to the mural is an utter disgrace, and they've been at it in New Lodge and Ardoyne too. All they want is to provoke a violent response.

For a start I don't think any genuine Republican refers to themselves as dissident republicans as big murph has suggested. Now if these people who are involving themselves in criminality are members of any political or military group then the leadership of those groups should be informed so that the criminals are expelled. A more likely scenario is that some hoods are going round claiming to be members of one group or another, while having no connection to them at all. Just like we had drug dealers going around Derry claiming to be members of the INLA when they weren't. They were later executed by the INLA for their activities.

Lads what you need is to be realistic here dividing the republican movement only serves our enemy the ira fought the british state brought the war to their front door in britian but war does not achieve your objectives you need a political strategey to do that now im not saying the gfa is going to do that but its a starting point a change of tactics but by directing hatred towards gerry and martin because you dont agree with it get real the leadership of the republican movement doesnt stop at those two people its a large movement and consists of men and women who fought a very long war who never took time out didnt waver in their republicanisim or commitment and are still there today what sickens me is to hear them being accused of selling out you dont spend your life fighting a cause and then the whole movement just sells out for gods sake sit back take a long hard look at where we are at whos agenda is being set here i myself had problems the movement was taking and took a step away well a number of years but all the goings on of the last few months have concentrated my mind as to who should lead the way and im now back in the fold im backing the leadership of the movement
