Not for the time being. But if Sinn Fein wants to hold on to a lot of its support in West Belfast, Tyrone, Derry etc. it would need to rethink its approach to several issues.
Btw, Gerry would probably be seen as one of the more serious Catholics in Sinn Feins upper echelons. Many of the others are totally hostile to the Church.

When people ask you what religion you are they don't want to know if you believe in transubstaniation or the Virgin Mary, they want to know if you are a nationlist or a unionist.
In essence I'm now a Christian, some of my own religious views are similar to Gerry's, I don't think we need a middle man to talk to God, or receive forgivness.

Gerry might or might not believe in transubstantiation or not, but it is fair to say that Catholic and Protestant ideologies aren't being followed when he protects IRA scum.
