I swear to god every one 0f those things listed above i have heard or read some "facts" saying that Ireland was the same.
Who ever wrote that blog is really not dealing with the facts either and is just having rant e.g car prices are higher in the UK than the rest of Europe are clearly not true or the person who wrote the blog dose not recognise Rep of Ireland as a country or never heard of us .

Great Britian is a reference to the British Isles, as in the largest of the isles. Even with all the British Isles problems and faults we must be doing something right as it seems the worlds immigrants will do almosts anything to get here. Try traveling outside of western europe and north america, see how crap life can realy be. Then you will understand that life on the British Isles is not so bad.

Have to say- to deal with only a couple of those, When I was over their I remember being impressed with the wider variety of groceries on offer (population scale obviously) and I remember thinking the hotels (outside of major cities were good value. Dont know about the rest (or care to much) But I would be surprised if they were the worst at everything. Visiting the south west, and wales as we did recently, I thought it was a lovely friendly place.

Why is this in the so called "Northern Ireland" forum?

Northern Ireland is not a part of Great(sic) Britain.

very true, people on here keep confusing Britain with UK- Though on a slightly different topic, one of the things i like most about NI is its Architecture, this is also true of a lot of the smaller British towns. We have some great stuff here too but it tends to be out of the norm, Does the UK operate a better planning and Heritage policy or are they just lucky? Or just as likely is the grass just greener when on hollidays?
