I really know sod all about football, what the premier league is? I've no idea.
What I'm trying to impart is that Irish football fans must have some affinity with Britain if they so religiously follow and support British football teams.

Who cares when you can invade Iraq!

Yes the republics religious hospitals are much better.

How do you know people have a crap quality of life in Uk.

Its like someone in England claiming all it does in Ireland is rain and all they eat is spuds.

Your an ignorant little bigot and gob********************e, who has got serious self esteem issues, hence your 24/7 obsession with Britain.

    Its called projection.

One of the great failings of the ROI is that it did not invest in a navy.
Rather than join the EU which in my opinion was a retrograde step, we could have instead developed our fishing industry (the only natural resource we had) and utilized the navy to protect those valuable fish stocks from foreign poachers.
We given away 60 billion euro of fish to the EU which is more than what we received in return, and also bearing in mind that we shall be obliged to pay that back sometime in the future.
A properly funded navy would have paid us dividends.

It is not often that I agree with you but I agree with you entirely on this matter.

Ohh, someone touched a nerve there. Butter or weapons. Fact is, Brits choose weapons (Old Harriers, tiny number of tanks etc) to nourish their post-imperial esteem issues. Its funny that limeys are so jealous of the USA, yet follow/hangdog about after them into wars, where the USA lets them pretend their in military partnership, where in reality they're nothing more than a token force.

The free state has more than enough oil off the West coast to fund both a navy and air defence and even an army. They just don't have the balls to nationalise it because they're gombeens. Hell even when our American diaspora offered us destroyers and jet fighters free of charge the west-brit traitors turned them down to appese their unkempt limey masters. Currently if the free state was invaded they have only enough ammunition to last 48 hours.

The ironic thing, if they were invaded, those free staters who wouldn't actually join the invaders would first look North for guerilla elements they constantly chastise to help them.

Jet fighters and destroyers require vast infrastructure to operate them, run ways and suppport staff, etc.

Really is that why its just got the Euro fighter and new Naval fighters, new nuclear subs which cost 500 million each and has a record in warfare second to none.

Its has the worlds second largest defence industry and is the fourth largest nation in terms of defence spending.

    Your obviously jealous.
