    Unionist Alliance

    Hello to everyone,

I wasn't entirely sure where this topic should go but the Northern Ireland section seemed appropriate.

We have opened a brand few forum for anyone who is interested in Unionism and Unionist ideas in Ireland. This is not a forum for catholics and not a forum for protestants only, its a forum for Unionists.

    http://www.miumu.com/phpbb/irishunionist.html

We encourage all people of a Unionist mindset to spread this forum as much as humanly possible. If you're in a University spread it there, if you're in school spread it there and so on so forth.

    Thank You!
    All the best,
    Irish Loyal

I hope that didn't come out as you meant it.

I think he meant what he wrote.
Interesting to see yet another putative Alliance voter acknowledging that they are simply another Unionist party.

Its meant to be read that the forum is not sectarian. Religion is secondary so don't have any ideas that it's a forum for catholics or protestants but rather for unionists of all religious backgrounds.

Well, it's just that you said Unionists of all different backgrounds. Can you point to a few Unionists of non-Protestant backgrounds, just to get us started, like?
(And no, Harold McCusker is dead and doesn't count.)

    Me.

Catholic Mother, Southern born apolitical Protestant Father. Not baptised. Went to sCatholic run school. So I guess that qualifies me as "catholic".

Dunno whether the Catholic church would agree with that definition of a Catholic, but there you go. Self-definitions count, perhaps, so a half mark there.
The answer 'David Christopher' would have received full marks also.
Well, you have fun with your new Unionist buddies now! I expect you'll find people from all sorts of staggeringly different backgrounds, like Antrim, Ballymena, East Belfast, maybe even as far flung as the Waterside in Derry (only they won't call it that.)

Don't forget Middle Abbey St. in Dublin. And the owners of the "Trust" that controls the old lady of D'Olier St. might want to join the party too!
