Do you not think the Irish people exercised their vote with all the information, to hand ? A straightforward choice between a repeat of the last 30 years or a way forward negotiated by those who led the struggle over the last 30 years and put directly to the people? Do some of us think us paddys not intelligent enough to be given the right to vote and make up our own mind in a democracy ? How were we duped ?

The Irish people were duped by a combination of the British government, their Irish 'government' proxies and their Sinn Fein agents into putting down their weapons and turning to politics.

Isn't this the old "false consciousness" line the Commies used to take, and still do for all I know. At any rate, do I understand you correctly inasmuch at it appears that in your own opinion you are cleverer, less gullible and more informed than the majority of people on the island of Ireland ?

Was Patrick Pearse not cleverer, less gullible and more informed than the majority of people on the island of Ireland?

Pearse didn't have the results of a democratic vote staring him in the face (not that that lets him off the hook of course!). Are you comparing yourself to him by the way?
