People evacuated over bomb alerts in Poleglass

A large number of people are after being evacuated from their homes in Poleglass after a number of suspect devices appeared in the area over night. Many of these devices have been taped to lampposts. A British Army bomb disposal team is currently carrying out checks on the devices and at least one controlled explosion has been carried out.

The local community centre has opened it's doors and is providing tea and coffee for all those evacuated.

Sounds like a futile attempt to raise tensions. Also to draw the PSNI and ARMY into the area.

You mean the British army. When people around Tyrone spoke of 'The Army' they meant the IRA. They are no longer 'the Army' and none of the armed militants are 'the Army' so the term means nothing in a 6 county context. Given that you are in the 26, for you to talk of 'the Army' could only refer to the IDF.

Stop being bloody pedantic! You know very well what I meant! But to spell it out for the pedant. It was done to draw the PSNI and British Army bombsquad into the area.

And you could not be blamed for surmising that maybe the threads are an attempt to imbue these local hooligan incidents, perpetrated by ne'rdowells, with some kind of wider or major political or other significance, They are not - they are simply the thuggish efforts of a scum element who would like to aclaim some kind of "cause" for their recidivist inclinations.

I think it's pretty significant that scores of people have had to be evacuated from their homes because bombs were left around their area

Not being pedantic, merely Irish. If you wish to refer to the foreign forces then refer to them properly. They are the most foreign and unwelcome Brit army; as opposed to native and unwelcome self-professed armies.
We have no army to call our own here.

Why don't you come up and do a survey?
