Dissidents "Traitors to Ireland" - McGuinness

I must admit to being a bit taken-aback by those comments at a live news conference outside Stormont.

That is an interesting statement from him....

I think this is an great step forward by SF. It shows that they do not support the dissidents in any way and are fully behind the peace process. It should dispel any underlying fears that Unionists should have. Now we need Robinson to call on the Unionist community to ensure that they don't go down the dark road of reprisal killings.

They are traitors. The Agreement is the will of the people and no other mandate exists.

That display of unity between Martin McGuinness and Peter Robinson shows exactly why this campaign will not succeed. The people of the six counties have their differences on many issues but not on this. They are united. As we are in the 26 counties. Against these murderers.

A positive step by Robinson would be to urge unioinst paramilitaries to decommission as a means of taking their ability to carry out reprisals out of the equation. There has been a major failure of leadership on this topic by the unionist leadership.

I would agree but the very least he must do is appeal to them that they do not retaliate.

Everyone who knows anything about who these people are and what they are up to has a MORAL and PATRIOTIC OBLIGATION to go to the police and tell them all they possibly.

Freedom and Democracy is being tested and the terrorists CANNOT be allowed to win.

Interesting point. Not that I disagree, but was there ever a referendum in Northern Ireland?
