Catriona Ruane - weak and defeated

Remember Catriona Ruane words last week !!

"The 11-plus is gone, now is the time for decisive action - I'm thankful that it's gone. I won't be bringing forward a replacement with academic selection, I'll be bringing forward detailed policies in the next few days."

This is the decisive action miss Ruane took !!

Education Minister Caitríona Ruane has issued guidelines on the transfer of pupils from primary schools from 2010.

Last week, she failed to get the Executive to approve a phasing out of academic selection.

Her new guidelines tell schools they should not use academic selection and list criteria which oversubscribed schools should use to choose pupils.

However, it is understood the guidelines are advisory rather than legally enforceable.

That means schools must take the guidelines into account but they are free to decide not to use them.

Ms Ruane told the assembly: "The time to act has arrived" LOL the Lord loves a trier

didn't you start a thread on this already? http://www.politics.ie/northern-irel...-11-plans.html

despite the fact that there appears to have been a thread on this already here: http://www.politics.ie/sinn-fein/421...ane-right.html

Unless you count this thread you started: Another set-back for caitriona-ruane

    or even http://www.politics.ie/northern-irel...ona-ruane.html

THB i've very little idea of who she is - you do seem to be a tad obsessed with the woman however.
