For anyone who wasn't there (and I wasn't), here's a detailed recap from the blog Slugger O'Toole.

Three of the groups have come together under the banner – ‘Irish Republican Forum for Unity’ – the IRSP, 32CSM and RNU. RSF won’t join any broad front on ideological grounds being supporters of the true government and all that guff...

I'm not sure what these meetings are meant to achieve, to be honest? None of these groups contest elections. Obviously I'm aware of the traditional (and futile) abstentionist position, but what others options are there?

    Who are these people?

I've heard of 32CSM but not the other two.

Also, isn't a collective group of dissidents a paradox?
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

As far as I'm aware, the RNU is the Republic Network for Unity. Some sort of intellectual based, non-violent dissident republican grouping. I believe they were formed in the aftermath of Sinn Féin's acceptance of the PSNI. Yes. But someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

The IRSP is the Irish Republican Socialist Party. Basically the 'political' wing of the INLA. Although they'll deny that. Mostly Derry based, I believe.

Good to see unity. Why wasn't Eirigi in attendance?

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.......RSF and Eirigi werent there, RSF are the lads with most of the guns and the only chance of electing anyone to anything without them an alkliance of deniers is about as relevant in irish politics as a greek second division football team

What happened to your Fine Gael avatar?
Your opinions are abouts as relevant as your assessment is accurate.

I had that avatar for about three days, I still would vote for them in the absence of any real alternative, and at least I dont hide my allegiances, which of the deniers groups do you belong to, or support, and the only statement of fact I made in my post was that RSF have most of the guns, is that not true, who ahs most of them then.
And my opinions are as valid as anyone else's on this site.

Wasn't expecting to see RSF there tbh. RSF members on the ground I'm sure would have no problem attending and there are good relations between all republicans at grass-roots level, but they are constrained by their Constitution, which hopefully will change in the future.
There is a lot of hypocrisy about RSF's claim not to enter "broad fronts". This is not a broadfront movement, it's about unity amongst individual political groups. RSF have attended anti war rallies and pro Palestinian rallies with other groups but fudge on meetings regarding the National question.
