There is a lot of truth in what Sammy Wilson is saying. Like it or not this is a small island, with a small population and a limited jobs market. What use is it to the local population if its government( North and south) promotes and helps business to develope. Only for that business to import cheap foreign labour? Is goverment not ment to be.. For the people, with the people and by the people?
Absolutely - that is of course why they were beaten out of the shipyards and if they could not run quick enough and got killed then that was there own stupid fault - guaranteed the jobs were given to good Ulster stock and what was wrong with that?

And while I am at it - we should never have allowed them into the police at all - look what happened Constable Arbuckle - if no fenians were in our police force then that would not have happened - some good decenet lad who pulled thye trigger there may even to this day be suffering paroxysms of guilt over that - he was supposed to be a fenian cop out in the fromt line and all.

That shipyard is long gone and the people that did that are too or close to being gone. Them good Ulster stock were being played by big business, sectarian was used to keep wages low and unions under control. In the same way big business does it today, threatening to move overseas when the work force ask for a fairer deal in the business. In the form of better wages or condishions, if not a move to overseas then a threat of bringing in migant workers. I have had the threats and seen them carried out in my work place, big business don't care about anyone or thing other than money.
I think he is one of the few people you could openly call a sectarian, xenophobic racist with a very small world view with little confidence of being sued.
(In case anyone quotes the DGDS rule, the above is my own opinion).
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.
