Possible £12,000 payment to families of EVERYONE who died during troubles.

The government is to be asked to pay £12,000 to the families of all those killed during the Troubles - including members of paramilitary groups.

The families of paramilitary victims, members of the security forces and civilians who were killed will all be entitled to the same amount.

The payment is expected to be recommended by the group set up to advise on how to deal with the past.

The Consultative Group on the Past is to publish its report next week.

    --------------------------------

If someone was killed during this conflict , the pain for families was just as real whether the person was innocent or involved in civil conflict.
This money is compensation for families, not the people who died in the IRA or the RUC.

The north was seriously failed by the British and Irish goverhnments for 50 years where unionist rule was allowed to operate out of the spotlight and administrate sectarian rule which lead to the troubles.

**However victims from the republic are being denied compensation even though the republic is being asked to pay for this.
By paying for this they aim to scrap the historical enquirees team saving the British 100's of millions.

The Irish government shouldnt pay anything for those who have died as a consequence of British misrule and their divide and conquer tactics on this island, but theyre soft and will inevitably bend over.

40m is nothing to the British, they spend that everyweek invading killing and dividing people in the east.

Nothing should be paid to the terror groups - INLA, IRA, UVF, UFF, LVF, etc etc. Period. Its morally wrong.

How do they divide them exactly, do they split them through the centre of the body starting at the head and finishing at the groin, or do they split them in two at the waist?

But the facts indicate that the RUC were the biggest terrorist group of them all, manipulating brain dead national front types from the shadows.

Nothing should be paid to anybody.

If a group of people want to go around killing each other and electing extremists and terrorists to represent them, good luck to them. Not my problem.

How could the State possibly contemplate compensating families of terrorists and not compensating families of victims of gangland crime in our own country, whose deaths the State has ultimate responsibility for?

I'd sooner give €1m to the family of Shane Geoghan that 1c to anyone in Northern Ireland.

The moneys not going to terror groups, its going to family members who lost a son, daughter, mother , father...

Or do you think people related to paramilitaries should not deserve compensation?
