You would imagine so but to read threads like this its clear it hasn't.

I also don't think its about emphasising differences if anything its about overemphasising similarities. I mean, recently I read a piece in an Irish paper that tried to argue that because I happen to shop in Tescos I'm really not Irish and am only fooling myself or some such nonsense.

Personally I don't give a flying fúck what the Brits do and can enjoy the Beatles or watching a premiership game while also liking traditional Irish music or the GAA.

I'm still Irish though and no amount of narrow-mindedness sill change that.
