What was/is Gerry Adams? Now I know some say he's finished, overplayed his hand etc, but he has been a leading figure in Irish/Ulster politics over many years and I'd be interested to see how people view this enigmatic individual:

(ii) A dupe and a fool.
(iii) A political bigot of the worst type.
(iv) Only interested in money and boosting his own ego.
(v) A true Irish hero.

He is the president of Sinn Fein and has been for quite a few years now....They happen to be the 2nd biggest party north of the border and growing....He is still one of the most respected politicans in the country.....He has been interned, imprisoned , and shot.......He was elected as MP for West belfast with the biggest % majority in the country north or south, he is also an assembly member.......He has written many books of interest to students of Irish history....He is a nice personable man to all who have met him...He will be remembered......

I was at a few dinners that he was at and I sat beside him a few times and he just ate and drank what the rest of us ate and drank ....so I think Bobert is being a little fastidious.
