DUP finally let go of their IRA boogyman.

BBC NEWS | Northern Ireland | IRA council 'has gone away' - DUP

The DUP have finally admitted that the IRA army council has gone, but Jim Allister of the TUV is still concerned. (Or unwilling to let go of his symbol of scaremongering for unionists)

Traditional Unionist MEP Jim Allister accused his former party of dropping its pledge that policing and justice would not be devolved while it exists.

Mr Robinson told the BBC he wanted republicans to repeat in public what they had told him in private.

The DUP and Sinn Féin reached a deal on Tuesday to break the Stormont deadlock.

"Right at the heart of building confidence within the community will be people's perception of those who are in the assembly," said Mr Robinson.

"It's important that those who are in the leadership of the republican movement make it very clear publicly, as they have done to us privately, that the IRA is out of business for good and is not going to return."
Abstinence makes the Church grow fondlers.

What the scumbag is saying is that it is very important that the IRA admit defeat, sackcloth and ashes. Preposterous clinging on to triumphalism by Unionists when Republicans have made such gerat sacrifice.

Personally i have no problem with the IRA publicly stating their army council has gone, the IRA and Irish nationalism are two different things.
The end of the IRA does not mean the end of Irish nationalism, but i am aware that some small minded people can not tell the difference between the two.

Defeated, stood down, taking the ballot box route, whatever you want to call it theyre gone and theyre never coming back and im glad as its one more obsticle in the road of unifying the people of Ireland, ending resentment and putting the past in the past.

Provisional Sinn Féin may say that the war is over and the Army council is no more, but what does the real government of Ireland think? (The 7 old men in the cow shed). Have they been consulted?

So policing and justice could not be devolved while the IRA council exists but what about the loyalist paramilitries?

Would this be the 'boogyman' referred to in the title?

"They can never wipe out the truth, no matter what they do," said Kathleen McCurrie, whose husband James was shot dead during disturbances close to St Matthew's Church.

"No matter what paint they use, they'll never wipe out the heart-ache," said Mrs McCurrie.

I could say the same about the red, white and blue curb stones!!

Party representative Niall Ó Donnghaile said the attack was "totally reprehensible".

"It is essential that the work which is ongoing to try and resolve the interface issues in this area continues and that we all work to try and ensure that such attacks are not repeated," said Mr Ó Donnghaile.

Sinn Fein being respectable as norm...

Ulster Unionist leader Sir Reg Empey said he was "disgusted" at the attack, "by republican elements from the Short Strand".

"It is deliberately provocative and totally unjustified behaviour designed to damage community relations," said Sir Reg.

How does that loyalist memorial help community relations in the first place?

I believe this thread is about music, according to the title.

Dunno what all the stuff about Northern Ireland is doing on it.
