The same stickies that turned their guns on republicans while at the same time assisting and aiding loyalist murder gangs. In your twisted logic BB that may have been right but for my dead friends it was definitely a skewed analyis on the stalinist sticky road to Irish unification.

Assisting loyalist murder gangs? Laughable, and contemptible. Why don't you ask The WP members who were killed by them about that. And just out of curiosity, who launched a pogrom against opposition elements, using the British-provided and monitored incident centres to do? Who did Merlyn Rees say would be allowed to police their own areas?

The reality is that the violence was all counter-productive in terms of uniting the people of Ireland. And that major progress and real change was effected by the peaceful protests of NICRA and the rent and rates strike. On the other hand, violence achieved nothing that had not been on offer decades earlier except to fill graves and push unity further back.
