Jesus man you are one dumb a$$! /QUOTE]

    Another Stater resorting to insults.
If you are trying to make the Catholics, (I assume you lack the intellegence to distinguish between Catholics and Republicans), look bad then you should do it in a more subtle way./QUOTE]

    I am not.
What point are you trying to make? The fact that mationalists and Republicians do not use the word "Eire" does not mean that I should not use it. I do not approve of Sean Kelly because he is a republician, I approve of him because he defended Catholics.
So you admit that is was a reprisal for the murder campaign against Catholics.
I did not know that.

Jesus Christ you amadán, look at where I am from in the location. Sure one day it will be with the counties in the State but at the moment it is in the OSC.

Ask Seán Kelly if he was acting in the capacity of Catholic Defender or Republican!

Come on fella try harder, you really need to set your sights higher.

I apologise for describing you as a "Stater".

I think that Sean Kelly was acting as a Catholic defender. The target was the UDA leadership. If the operation had been carried out in the cause of a United Ireland, I would disapprove of it.

This man is a hero to a majority of Unionists both for killing unarmed mourners at an IRA funeral and for attempting to murder Sinn Fein leaders.

There are very few Unionists who would outrightly condemn this "Northern Ireland soldier" for his actions in protecting the Union.

This is unfortunately, the type of mindset halting progress for many years and apparent now in the DUPs refusal to adhere to the GFA and move on devolution of policing and justice.

Stone might be some sort of hero to some militant Loyalists for striking at the heart of the republican movement but the majority of the unionist people just see him as another terrorist and I have no problem condemning this man.

As for roger2 and raff's warped thinking that sean kelly bombed innocent civillians on the shankill road was in defence of catholics is outrageous, you can mist over the sectarian nature of this bombing by claiming it was targeted at a uda meeting above frizell's fish mongers but the reality is that the device was placed on a fish tray which was covered over and had a very short fuse, it was supposed to explode within seconds of kelly and begley making their escape, even if the uda had been meeting in the upstairs room at the time and had been wiped out it still would have claimed the lives of those in the shop something that the provies knew but hey they were prods from the shankill road and deserved it did'nt they?

How do you know it had a very short fuse?

It went off when it did because the owner of the chippy started wrestling over the device with Beagley causing it to go off.
The IRA were more concerned about delivering a knock out blow to the UDA by wiping out their senior leadership in one go than simply killing protestant civilians.

The end result is all that matters.

How do you know? Were you there? Part of the bombing team perhaps? Knew a relative of one of them?

    How do I know what?

The newspapers at the time of the incident reported that Desmond Frizzell wrestled with Beagley over the device, thus setting it off.
