    IRA progress signs 'encouraging' IMC

The IRA move away from its armed campaign is showing encouraging signs, the paramilitary watchdog has said.

However, the Independent Monitoring Commission said it was too early to draw firm conclusions about the IRA ending all activities.

A very welcome development unlike the rampant and continued terrorism of the Loyalists.

Good news and well done to all concerned. As noted in another thread, there appears to be progress in getting the LVF to stand down, and that there may be progress in the UVF disarming.

Why is the Brit Government still funding the PUP, when it suspended funding to SF following the last IMC report.

    Hypocrisy anyone?

So do you believe the IMC when they have something favourable to say? Because I know Shinners always tried to discredit the IMC before.

I think they do a fairly good job of that themselves.

MJ I disagree with the IMC's existance, and I haven't commented on the issue of this topic either, I just provided a link to the BBC report.

Which is why I asked do you believe the IMC.

But seeing as you disagree with it's existence, what would you put in it's place?

Why put anything in its place? Its of no use to anyone. Just a mouthpiece for the so-called 'intelligence' services.
