As an ex soldier myself, i found this article very interesting. Apparently a few of the lads had experienced a bit of grief over their decision to join the Brits.

Oh, British National Party. That's fine.. Off you f*ck, we don't need Nazi f*ckers like you in Ireland N or S.
Still here? Read the previous line...
Mr Gormley described calls for the resignation of his cabinet colleague as "absolute nonsense". He said Mr Lenihan was doing "a very good job under exceptionally difficult circumstances".
So they experienced some grief? That should be good practice for them.
Irish people who join the British army could just as easily join the Irish army; they are harldy turning recruits away. These people choose instead to become hired killers for British imperialism.
Oh, please, that is a bit harsh. They are probably young men trying to earn a living. Do not forget that Michael Collins was in the British army. And some of the IRA men of more years. Martin Meehan???Originally Posted by múscailte
I do not think that British imperialism exists any more. It seems to me that young men joining the British army and sent to Iraq or Afganstan are more likely to be killed than to kill. I think they need their heads examined. They deserve sympathy, not hostility.
Please be moderate in your opinions.
Is it just the glass of wine with dinner or are there a lot of
"Let's all join HM Forces and have a bally good time shooting brown people" posts recently.
Even more than usual?

No he wasn't.Originally Posted by Roger
Micheal Collins was in the Post Office and Martin Meehan's grandfather fought in WW1. What planet are your history books printed on? The RIR has lost one man on their tour and probably killed hundreds. They deserve nothing more than our contempt.Originally Posted by Roger
