It's a good idea. We could well do with a nuclear power plant somewhere in this island. They shelved the plans for one in L/Derry a few years ago.. Stupidly IMO.

Not going to happen unless ESB build one.
I suppose he intends the location to be somewhere along the East Antrim Coast?
Politically stupid, economically stupid, with regards energy in the next decade irrelevant. Perhaps he intends to locate it in West Derry or Strabane?

Excellent idea. We should have built the nuclear power station that the ESB wanted at Carnsore Point years ago - We'd have much better energy security (and much lower CO2 emissions)now if we had done.
But of course the government caved in to the loony "green" lobby and the sweater wearing beardy weirdie lesbian type hippies were allowed to dictate our national energy policy...Irish governments of whatever hue have NEVER provided leadership, least of all when its most needed.

How about they dump the waste near your home, and put the horrible looking plant on your doorstep?
If it was planned for the Shankill road would you have the same support for it?

About time, nuclear is clearly the way to go. It was only a matter of time before we have a nuclear power plant on the island and once again N.I. is leading the way. As I suggested yesterday, Wilson would be a first rate minister for he environment and 24 hours into the job and he's proved me right!
