Whats he gonna do about all this flags and symbols talk? Are we gonna see all the flags, some of the flags or none of the flags?
Food tastes better when you put it all together! It's the one best mayonnaise!

I am not sure that he is personable (properly so called) ....

Good luck to the fella. I was on one of his speaking tours of the City Cemetery (he did them, maybe still does, as part of Feile) and he was an affable, knowledgable and thoroughly entertaining host. If he can bring a bit of that to the office of Lord Mayor, he'll be OK.

Yeah, Tom Hartely does seem like a dead on type of bloke. I really liked his enthusiasm for local history, especially when I ever saw him talking on TV about the graveyard tours. And Tom is very keen on green issues too which is great. iirc, he wanted to push for more people to get on their bikes around the city and leave their cars at home. It was a real shame, I don't think he got the support for it. The idea seemed to be in the news for a bit then it was forgot about.
    Good luck to him.

Belfast is relatively flat. Cycling is a piece of piss. Unfortunately, people are too wedded to German automotive engineering, despite, in the majority of cases, them living maybe 3-4 miles from their Belfast city-centre job. (And it's not too cool to cycle the we'ans to school when there's a perfectly good Chelsea tractor in the garage).

I'd be delighted to support Tom in any cycling initiative he proposes during his year in office (despite never having been, or never likely to be, a SF voter).
