Raff I'll answer your questions because it is only manners; but, I feel there is little point in us continuing a debate that will achieve little and destroy this thread. You have the type of attitude I recognise from my younger self. Nobody could have changed my mind; I had to do that for myself. I can only hope that there will be more than dissapointment and frustration in your future.
can you tell me what test the men and women of '98 and '16 put their mandate to?
And they died in their thousands and hundreds respectively with no direct measureable success.
As I've said, I can't speak for Sinn Féin or the way in which they determine policy as I'm not a member. But I do know that they put their policies to the test before the electorate and have been successful so far.
I don't think there is an organisation in Ireland above parish football club level that hasn't been compromised by Brit intel; read a few of my posts and you'll see my attitude to those scum. All the same, you can't hide in the cupboard with tinfoil on your head.
A lot of compromises have had to be made along the way, Irish men and women have had to compromise their compassion and humanity at times; there are much easier compromises to make and still maintain your integrity.
    Brits out!

On the contrary I do understand the need to compromise but at what stage does it more to surrender? PSF held on to stringent goals and ideals for so long it seems a complete waste of their lives and the lives volunteers that supported them to turn around now and make a mockery of what they stood for. My point isn't about holding on to the armed struggle or not engaging with the British, but exploring ALL options that are available and trying to follow ones that do not involve such a betrayal of ideals.

Im surpirsed they havent killed a few policemen, Hugh Orde was right when he said theyre nothing but drug dealing cowards who shoot over walls then run for the hills.
