    First I heard about it.

Anything to back this up with?
Why is the merger not happening now?
Incredibly irrelevant to the thread but against my better judgement I'll indugle you.

The SDLP has not said that it is merging with FF. So you can roll your pixelated eyes all you want but that doesn't make it true.
I see your point, save whatever dignity you can,at least til the inevitable occurs.
Mark Durkan at bodenstown anyone..... maybe addressing a commemorative dinner for sectarian killer Frank Aiken who turned his back on his own people........

EDIT, the provies seem to have got it right on one thing though, Stoop Down Lower Party[/quote:e2m4hdpl]

Wow you really got us there: Stoop Down Lower Party? I've never heard that one before. How about South Down and Londonderry Party or Still Don't Like Prods or Sectarian Demonisation of Loyalist People?

You must be a serious political heavyweight.

I really must get a briefing from SDLP headquarters before I come up against you in a debate.[/quote:e2m4hdpl]

To think that the self indulgent gob************************e Seamus mallon just stopped short of calling bertie ahern a tramp just 2years ago blaming FF for their electoral meltdown[ he was right on both accounts] now your all ready to get into bed with them fearing for your politicals lives from the provos.

Brian feeney added to the distaste of the whole situation when he stated that the SDLP was never really the sister party of labour and they had become the 'stickies' Know wonder they have been silent...

The difference was 37k. The SDlp haven't a hope of making up that kind of diiferential, unless they run a high profile candidate and then hope that Allister causes a pretty even 3 way split in the Unionist vote. I don't see either of those things happening.[/quote:2qfiqzmj]

37, 000? My arse. What figures are you looking at?[/quote:2qfiqzmj]

The final count (the one that matters), surely you've got the hang of STV by now?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europea...rthern_Ireland

    UUP: 91,164
    SDLP: 87,559

It's a difference of 0.7% of the vote and i don't think the UUP are going into the election very strong
The UUP candidate can be behind the SDLP candidate on the first count and would still take the seat on transfers (unless Allister puts a spanner in the works).

The SDLP are the "dead man walking" in N.I. politics right now and once Hume's personal vote wasn't in play, they were bound to lose the seat, and given their ongoing decline, they won't ever get it back.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

I love your excessive use of ....... to finish a sentence. It really makes you seem like you know what you're doing.

Seriously you must have some serious pull in the SDLP if you're hearing all this privileged information that I'm not getting.

Contrary to what you and Brian Feeney might think I take my membership of PES and SI very seriously.

Anyway this is nothing to do with this thread so while you're learning sentence structure and the ability to form an argument maybe you should leave this thread to a discussion on the next European election.

I was talking about the getting into bed with Fianna Fail.

I'm loving the fact that you're getting as much mileageout of the old................... as you can.
