I think N.I. should have St.Patrick's Day as a holiday and in a spirit of co-operation, we should have July 12th!
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

What about one based on an excommunicate?

Can the assembly deliver this? most likely the votes for and against it will turn out with the usual sectarian crap:

    DUP and UUP: No
    SF and SDLP: Yes

Don't know about Alliance, although they backed the rejection of the ban on Irish in stormont. More and more unionists are beginning to celebrate it so who knows. It could fit easily into the new "shared future" stuff, shared recognition and funding on the same level as Orange parades.
St Patricks Day was adopted by nationalists as their day, who says that unionsits doesnt celebrate it??? Its as much a day for unionists as it is nationalists.

I'd have no objection against classifying it as a public holiday in NI.
