    DUP - once again appeals to baser elements

    The DUPer MLA Paul Girvan quoted here has once again shown just how far certain elements within unionism have to go before sectarianism is rid from the sick counties.
    In an obvious appeal to the baser elements within unionism and especially the flotsam that make up the flag hags Girvan has stated that he has no problem with the burning of the Irish national flag on a bonfire. As expected Girvan wails about this being culture etc etc.

    The dearth of leadership in unionism is now becoming something of an embarrassment. Rather than confront the sectarain flotsam and point out a few home truths about a shared society, elements of the DUP wait until they see what direction the mob is drifting before rushing in front of it claim leadership.

    Can the DUPers continue to pull the wool over the eyes of the flotsam?

    I've met middle-class unionists who wouldn't call you a Taig to your face - but wouldn't protest if someone else did.

    Well, the good people of East Belfast did give Pistol Pete short shrift.

    The question is can the Sinners continue to pull the balaclava over the eyes of the West Belfast flotsam ?

    Whaddya think, no charry ?

    @Levellers, Marcella

    Edifying stuff so far - themmums are either openly bigoted or hypocrits pretending not to be bigoted.

    Do I understand you correctly?

    Edit - With regards to the OP, I agree that it would have been better if Girvan had spoken out against the burning of Tricolours.

    And these are the same idiots who claim their sides flag is disrespected by not being flown 365 on city hall and stirred up tensions over it all in a pathetic effort to win votes.

    I would disagree with him on the flag burning, but it happens and if it truly offends you you're a sensitive soul. As for the quality of political 'leadership' moi doesn't think either side has much to crow about, so pat my dear bring back the high horse whenever you stop electing convicted murderers...

    Reminds me of Paisley junior on spotlight talking about homosexuality, mad Ted.

    These tri-colour bonfires still seem to be mainstream within Unionism.
