This is the latest in the haemorrhaging from the DUP. It will get worse when the honeymoon period wears off. There is going to be trouble ahead with issues such as Irish language for example.

The house of cards will fall
    Romanticist 75%, Fundamentalist 69%, Idealist 63%, Cultural Creative 63%, Postmodernist 56%, Modernist 44%, Existentialist 44%, Materialist 19%

Pro Deo, Rege et Patria, Hibernia Unanimis

This is good as it will weed out the super-bigots from the DUP and also hopefully they will set up their own political parties and cause splits in unionist power.

yes it is good - as SF will also be under pressure and they also will get hurt by it -let us pray for the whole lot to crash

Would you like my company to pull out of the North, leaving me and 1499 others unemployed? Would that help your case?
T.b.h. it would be a bit of an inconvenience for myself and the wife and kids, but sure greater men than I have laid down their lives for Irish freedom, and I don't think I can take much more of this oppression from the brits.

Hmmm, I'll take your silence as an answer then will I?

PSF have lost as many as the DUP have. It is natural. As i have said before, the only thing unionists are split over is how best to maintain the union.

They've lost a few nutters in Ballymena (which actually helps the DUP not hinder them) and this fella in Castlereagh. Mind you, the truth of this one is that he fell out with a Party Colleague on the Council and now just wants to cause some damage on his way ou.

As for the Irish Language Act - don't see how that causes problems for the DUP. There isn't going to be an Act so I'd imagine they'd be quite pleased with that. A DUP Minister isn't going to introduce it, and even if he did take leave of his senses and try it then it would be blocked at either Executive of Assembly level.

The trouble ahead could be within the Shinners when they finally realise that there isn't going to be an Irish Language Act and have to explain that one away to their electorate and that Policing and Justice aint going to be devolved for a long time to come.

The last one is a particular difficulty given that SF's stated policy was that they wouldnt support policing at all until it was devolved. Now they're in Government, have supported the Police and it's not even going to be done by the Government's target of 2 years.

Oh dear.... how do you explain that one to the lads?
