Jim Wells and the female species.

I'm not sure if Jim is a ladies man or not but over the course of the last few months he has gone out of his way to offend quite a lot of women. Wells narrowly avoided a week long suspension from the assembly by the skin of his teeth for his comments made to two females in Parliament buildings, although last week the former assembly standards commissioner Tom Frawley decided Mr Wells had not shown the two women enough respect.

The two women in question are Culture Minister Caral Ni Chuilin and her former advisor Mary McArdle. In an aggressive and threatening manner Ni Chuilin claimed gaffe prone Wells said 'You needn't think you're going to bring that murderer to South Down'. As if Jim Wells has any control of who comes or goes anywhere never mind south Down.

The second woman he decided to disrespect was Mary McArdle, whom he verbally abused bravely on the first floor of the parliament building. It's claimed the brave Jim Wells said 'there's the murderer herself'. Which although may be true, why didn't the sizeable Jim make such comments to the various other former IRA men he works along with everyday? There is no shortage of SF MLA's with quite a prison record. Ms McArdle claimed Mr Wells was “forceful, aggressive and intimidating” to her as he passed her on the first floor corridor.

Another MLA was more potent in her criticism, South Down MLA Caitriona Ruane said, 'The definition of misogyny is hatred or dislike of women and girls. That is what Jim Wells has done and has been found guilty of. What makes it even worse is that it is a mixture of sectarianism and misogyny, a lethal cocktail'.

It's not the first time this year the bold Jim Wells has incurred the wrath of women. MLA Anna Lo claimed Mr Wells was 'still living in the dark ages' when once again dictating to women and that claiming rape victims should not be allowed to abort an unborn child, he said women who suffer a sexual assault must not be exempt from the strict laws banning abortion here.

During the summer when Ireland's Katie Taylor won gold for Ireland, Jim Wells congratulated her great feat with the following retweet 'The Irish take the GOLD – most of the lead off the roof and half of the copper piping from the changing rooms'.

Ballbag of the highest degree, keep going Jim, it's impressive.

During the First World War, certain people showed their disdain for all things German by kicking Sausage Dogs. They didn't kick too many Alsations though.

OK, so Mr. Wells has displayed a disdain for a female terrorist murderer of the IRA, and got called a "misogynist" by Ruane who has well established herself as a naive simpleton.

Perhaps Jim just speaks the truth about people, and some of those people just happen to be women.

In the last few months he has disrespected:

    -Two women in Stormont
    -Female victims of rape
    -Irish gold medallist Katie Taylor

A pattern is developing, outlined in the OP. Raymond McCartney was convicted of murder, he works with Wells, why not 'bump into him' on a first floor corridor?

You know what would be REALLY anti-women? Shooting an unarmed 22 year old girl in the back. Like if he did that then no one would let him near the assembly right?

Has he ever tried to tell Alec Maskey the "truth"?

I understand you're playing the "poor oppressed women" card here in an attempt to build some kudos. Mr. Adams does the same. Fact is, women are sly, devious, controlling and manipulative. Many are bullies, megalomaniacs and sociopaths. Some are even downright lying, deceiving ******.

The worst of the bunch are those who murder, then try to occupy positions of power with a self righteous attitude.

    In fairness:
    1. He's mouthing off at the murderer of a 22 year old girl and the person moronic enough think hiring that murderer was a good idea.
    2. He's repeating the current law of the state and endorsing said law. If he's mysoginistic because of that then the entire state is as well.
    3. I took that to be anti-Irish more than anti-women. What makes you think it was anti-women? Because Taylor's a woman? That's pretty dumb.

I don't know. Maskey is a pug-nosed thug. He should at least make him aware of that.
