What on earth are MI5 building any structure in NI for???

Why do they persist in alluding that there is a massive threat to Britain from Ireland for??

Irish Republicans have been pacified as the end is nigh for Unionism.

Why don't they concentrate on all the alleged British muslims who are gojng to Pakistan to train and leave Irish people to get on with their lives.

The one good thing about it is that at least the G branch of the Gardai will have a nice new building to move into.

The war is over for most groups, why do they (British) still need to spy on the natives? The branch have just donned different clothes.

The issue is, if their future is as ugly as their past the people of Ulster will be the ones paying with their lives.

Whats with you unionist crew, do you think us republicans love the free state forces. they were up to their neck in collusion as well i n the 70,80 and 90's not forgetting the IRA killed nearly as many free staters in the 20th century than they did british army.
'given the shocking and appalling culture of collusion and illegality' within the RUC, 'one would wonder what other unacceptable practices remain hidden from the public'.

From a British point of view why is this being located in the North anyway surely it would make more sense to have it in Britain?

MI5 are setting up regional bases across UK in a bid to counter Islamist extremism outside of the South-East of England. I suspect that the Belfast operation will take responsibility for the entire island of Ireland. With increased surveillance in the UK and, considering the common travel area, it stands to reason that some British extremist Islamists will/have move/d to Dublin, Cork etc. Along with people who have arrived in Ireland from outside of Europe.

How much the Irish government is in step with this is anyone's guess.

How the feck can they do that? They are a foreign force in the ROI! Any MI5 agent caught operating in the ROI will be arrested and charged accordingly.
