The usual bunch of irrelevances. Yippee. All 20 32 CSMs, 18 IRSP members and the 1 RNU.

Together they are a bit like an appendix: useless and pointless.

Isn't it the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland or even Seirbhís Póilíneachta Thuaisceart Éireann if you prefer) now or has the RUC be reinstated?

You don't expect the 32CSM to be up to date, do you? They live in some loola land of circa 1918. (In fact using 'RUC' is positively up-to-date for them. They should be saying 'RIC' and 'DMP'.

To paraphrase Adams - and to satisfy Ciarán with regards to the RUC - "They haven't gone away you know"2

Let's face it, there are some people on this island that will never agree with democracy unless it is "their democracy".

No, I am talking about some peoples ability to accept that the majority of people in the north voted for the GFA and there are a minority that do not accept the democracy of that.

Adams took his party down a democratic route and convinced a majority of northern republicans to follow him. That is democracy in action.

But maybe Hugh Orde is a republican!

only buzzing of you thaught something like that. But there is a point to there argument. The irish people have never been asked there opinion on unification. Concidering it's been a major political issue for the last century you would think it would happen once. The powers that be i.e the brits won't allow it so it's also true to say in the context of the brits "Let's face it, there are some people on this island that will never agree with democracy unless it is "their democracy".

In that context there is a legitimate argument the most democratic thing to do could be to oppose the system for all it's worth. so i don't think you should patronize them out of hand. i don't think it's as two dementional as your making out.
