These attacks on Orange Halls seem to be runnung at a worryingly high level.
This is a matter of shame and those who have influence in the six counties must make this clear. I am not sure what is behind these but I want to make clear it goes without saying that such attacks are without justification and should be condemned wihout qualification, whether we agree witht he OO or not.
I was therefore pleased to see that Sinn Fein Minister of Transport, Conor Murphy has condemned one of these attacks in his own patch. Commenting after reports of attacks on Carnagh Orange hall and Mallantur Orange hall in Armagh he said that there can be no justification for attacks on Orange Halls, and he has called for them to end.
"Attacks on people because of their religion or attacks on property because of their religion are wrong and should stop. There can be no justification for this sort of behaviour. It is unacceptable and must end. Those responsible need to reflect long and hard upon their actions and ensure that this sort of sectarian behaviour is ended".
