At the meeting Ian Paisley criticised Gordon Brown's predecessors: "The south of Ireland used the monies they got very well indeed but we did not get the money, it was used to pay the ordinary government expenses of Northern Ireland"

Mr McGuinness struck a more positive note: "The prime minister was at pains to say that he is here to help and that he recognises the economy is of critical importance."

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern was also at the summit, as were Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and Welsh Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones.

I must say Dodds always appears a real sectarian pig to me. Gregory Campbell is as bad and Sammy Wilson is, well, he's just a sad joke.

Bertie is some man though; he's a deft hand at talking sh-t to them all. Wonder if he could work his charms on the bull D-arlene Foster?
We live in the age of the overworked, and the under-educated; the age in which people are so industrious that they become absolutely stupid.

Why do only the Heads of Government of the various other constituent parts attend whilst the seemingly entire NI cabinet does?
