Anyway, another few excuses why I don't want to pay the wages of some family and friends.

    Pathetic Journalism.
The Gaurd and Callaghan were cited?

    Well say no more!!

expect Smithwick inguiry to be a whitewash
if you are trying to imply, and i think you are, that because irish republicans either detonated bombs from the free state, or crossed over to launch an attack from the free state or went into the free state to hide after an operation and that somehow makes the irish government culpable, then by that logic the british government is responsible and should be made accountable for EVERY death committed by either loyalists or republicans and state forces in NI.

all that was mentioned in the programme is that the irish government was approached by unionists just because of "jurisdiction", not because they have any evidence.

The Phoenix had a good article some months back suggesting it wasn't beyond the capabilities of the IRA to intercept phone messages between the Gardai in Dundalk and the RUC if Newry and find out the route these two rather unfortunate chaps took.

The IRA were a well run, highly skilled bunch. Just because loyalists were as thick as pig sh!t and needed their hand held by their Brit masters doesn't mean the IRA needed equivalent help.

Thanks, planning a visit to London next year. Do they still get you into places of interest like museums for free?

if you watched the programme, then you'd be aware that the term "whatabout-ery" was directed towards unionists, NOT nationalists.
