Time to outlaw this barbaric pursuit.

UTV News - Cat mauled to death by hunt dogs

"A Co Down woman whose pet cat was savaged by a pack of fox hounds at the weekend says her heart is broken. Sophie, who was seven, was attacked by the hunt in the back garden of her owner's home in Kircubbin on Saturday. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has lived in the house since April - she says she has never seen a hunt on the land behind her house..................
...............................Brain Wilson, a former Green Party MLA who tried to introduce legislation to outlaw foxhunting, says a ban needs to happen sooner rather than later.
"People in Northern Ireland support the abolition of fox hunting but the situation is that MLAs do not take the decision to ban it," he told UTV."

I hate this sort of gratuitous cruelty to animals. These people are scum.

Sick, blood-thirsty scum. Our equivalent to bull fighting but without the cultural excuse. "We're sorry your animal was shredded alive. It was actually another living creature we were after".

Drag hunting gives the horses and hounds a similar work out but doesn't appeal because (1) there's no kill, no blood, no pleasure (2) the runner has the capability to hold someone responsible when it goes wrong.

Absolute knobs of the highest order.

It should be banned right now!

If they come onto your land you've every right to forcfully remove them - I don't mean the dogs - I mean the dicks sitting on the horses.

The dicks on horseback probably do believe they are of the highest order. Thank god the woman in the story didn't have children in her garden.

I own two cats and three dogs, one of which is a small breed, if anything happened to them I wouldn't be repsonsible for what I'd do to one of those red coat wearing gimps.

It's barbaric and should be a thing of the past as in the UK.

    Dogs and cats fighting?
Yeah, there needs to be a law against that.

You would have no problem if a hound came onto your property and ripped your kid's pet to shreds in front of them then?

NI is the only part of the UK where fox hunting is legal. This needs to change.
