If people want to see Long Kesh, then that's up to them. Kilmainham and the dungeons of Dublin castle also have horrible memories, doesn't mean people who are interested in them should be stopped from seeing them like I pointed out about the loyalist murals.

I don't know if the loyalists hold tours ( I'd be surprised if they didn't), but I do know ex IRA men do, I remember seeing a clip regarding the 1983 mass escape by the IRA and at the end of it, it should Bobby Storey bringing a group of people around explaining certain details about the escape ( must try and find out when their is a tour in the summer when I'm up that way at a motorbike event to attend).

I don't think people like Bobby Storey should have access to the Maze to spin his hate-filled version of history. Those buildings should be bulldozed or locked up and brought out when they are history and not current sores.

If the colonist is happy to have statues of the UDR in city centres, then he’s going to have to get used to the natives' commemoration of their heroes as well.

As usual colonist MOPEry wants commemoration to be a one way avenue. Thankfully though, the natives are no longer sitting at the back of the bus, but instead, in government, where they can make these decisions on behalf of the native people.
    Mickeymac and PO'Neill like this.

I have been on the tours. They are official and run by an arm of the NIO. Certainly not one sided or the other and not promotional. They are fascinating and when someone like me lived through an era which was wrapped up in what happened in the they are of great interest. I can tell you one thing. If anyone goes in and see the conditions they would think very very long and hard before deciding to do anything which might see them in there living.
It's only a bit of craic
