i don't know but a few questions a) who told her this was it the army as in a report? b) an individual? c) mod? d) i am would assume the family would have more satisfaction/relief if the HET investigation brought the murderer to justice would you agree?

His relatives were told no-one tried to help him, and attempts were even made to steal his rifle.

It was also rumoured that local people tried to run off with the body of the 21-year-old soldier.

As the OP writer has stated the piece is quite clear on the degree of comfort this revelation has provided for the family, try and recognise that.

I take Esk's bona fides at their face value, thanks. If I wanted to be a cynic I'd dig up a thread where the HET and its personnel is blaggarded and I'm sure I'd find you there.
